Albanian President Bamir Topi is intending to make an official visit to Ukraine in 2009.
Ukrainian News learned this from a statement by the press service of the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Ukrainian Ambassador to Greece and Albania Valerii Tsybukh took part in a number of events marking the Day of Independence of Albania in Tirana on November 28, according to the statement.
Tsybukh had short meetings with President Bamir Topi, Prime Minister Sali Berisha, and Foreign Minister Lulzim Basha.
Ukrainian Ambassador Tsybukh and President Topi discussed the pace of the development of the Ukrainian-Albanian relations. The meeting also concerned preparations for the official visit of the Albanian president to Ukraine in 2009 on an invitation from Ukrainian President Viktor Yuschenko.
The Albania side confirmed its essential interest in the development of comprehensive cooperation with Ukraine at the bilateral level and in the frames of international organizations.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, President Viktor Yuschenko advocates further development of the political dialogue with Albania at the top level.
