Volodymyr Lytvyn, the leader of the parliamentary faction of the Lytvyn Bloc, supports the initiative to form a parliamentary coalition made up of the parliamentary factions of the Party of Regions, the Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc, the Our Ukraine-People's Self-Defense bloc and the Lytvyn Bloc.
He expressed this opinion on the November 28 air of the Inter television charnel.
"I am convinced the parliament will adopt the important laws, we will be honest in our dialogue and secure Ukraine's sustained development if such coalition is created," Lytvyn said.
He expressed doubts that a potential coalition embracing factions of BYT, OU-PSD and the Lytvyn Bloc will secure adoption of the anti-crisis measures by the Verkhovna Rada.
"The question is how these 248 MPs will vote for the anti-crisis draft laws. First of all, I am referring to the OU-PSD deputies," he said.
In Lytvyn's opinion, such coalition may be formed for a short term to stabilize the political situation in the country.
Lytvyn also expressed the opinion that formation of a parliamentary coalition made up of the Party of Regions, OU-PSD and the Lytvyn Bloc is possible.
According to him, such coalition may unite the country, though it preserves the risks of putting mutual categorical demands of political nature by the coalition members.
The Lytvyn Bloc leader expressed the opinion that a Verkhovna Rada coalition should represent interests of the entire nation rather than parts of it.
He stressed the importance of creation of a broad coalition at the Verkhovna Rada embracing the Party of Regions, BYT, OU-PSD, and the Lytvyn Bloc.
Lytvyn also noted that there are no possibilities to form a coalition with the Communist Party due to the ideological collisions.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc is ready to accept all the Lytvyn Bloc's conditions for formation of a parliamentary coalition made up of the parliamentary factions of the Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc, the Lytvyn Bloc, and the Our Ukraine-People's Self-Defense bloc.
