MP Viacheslav Kyrylenko, the head of the parliamentary faction of the Our Ukraine - People's Self-Defense Bloc, sees bare chance of any new coalition in the current Verkhovna Rada.
Ukrainian News learned this from a statement by the press service of the Our Ukraine - People's Self-Defense Bloc.
"We believe the creation of any coalition in the parliament today is a problem for a number of reasons. The main reason is our ideological splits with the Party of Regions and absence of confidence of long-term cooperation in a coalition with the Bloc of Yulia Tymoshenko," the press service quoted Kyrylenko as saying.
Kyrylenko advocated effective legislative work of the Verkhovna Rada.
"The country needs a new budget. We are prepared to vote on it, the country needs anti-crisis laws and we are prepared to vote for them. This will be the best option of the work of the Verkhovna Rada in the current situation," the faction leader said.
In his opinion, speculations on the creation of a coalition and on candidates for the Verkhovna Rada speaker only delay settlement of social and economic problems.
Kyrylenko said the faction of the Our Ukraine - People's Self-Defense Bloc is prepared to consider draft laws from the Cabinet of Ministers and other political forces. The factions ask other factions be also objective in assessing legislative initiatives of MPs from the faction of the Our Ukraine - People's Self-Defense Bloc.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc intends to start talks on formation of a parliamentary coalition with all parliamentary factions if a coalition made up of the parliamentary factions of the Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc, the Lytvyn Bloc, and the OU-PSD is not formed by December.
The Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc is ready to accept all the Lytvyn Bloc's conditions for formation of a parliamentary coalition made up of the parliamentary factions of the Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc, the Lytvyn Bloc, and the Our Ukraine-People's Self-Defense bloc.
The Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc also favors formation of a parliamentary majority with the factions of the Lytvyn Bloc and the OU-PSD without official formation of a coalition if the three factions assume public obligations.
