Valentyn Korolko, a representative of the steering committee for the contest and the president of the Mainstream Communication & Consulting company, announced this at a press conference at press center of the Ukrainian News information agency.

He said the registration of nominees will wind up on November 28. The registration of the jury will end on December 19.

The voting of the jury will last from December 1 through February 13, 2009.

To date, 91 nominees and 111 member of the jury have been registered to take part in the PRESStitle 2008 Contest.

In 2008, winners of the contest will be defined in nine profile nominations: finances, investment, the ore-mining and metallurgical industry, the oil and gas sector, industrial output, consumer markets, insurance activities, construction and real estate, telecommunications and IT, and the power industry.

Members of the jury include leading businessmen, editors of business and political media outlets, experts in industries.

Two image nominations are the same as in 2007: the best TV business news editor, the colleagues' respect. Businessmen, editor-in-chief, and journalists can vote for the former nomination, while only journalists can vote for the latter nomination.

There is a new nomination "Opening of the Year." Nominees are journalists that work in the business journalism no longer than one year.

Journalists taking part in the nomination cannot take part in the jury of the contest.

Businessmen, editor-in-chief, and journalists can vote in the nomination.

The Business and Society is the novelty of this year. Participating in it are journalists covering dialogues and conflicts between business, the government, and public.

Only businessmen and editors-in-chief can vote for nominees here.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, 154 nominees took part in the PRESStitle 2007 Contest.

The PRESStitle Contest is an international one. It has been held in Ukraine since 2005.
