Ukraine and the European Union agreed upon jointly founding a council for Ukraine's association in the EU, Foreign Affairs Ministry press service informed.
This agreement was reached at a meeting of the delegations of Ukraine and the EU at a plenary session of the 10th round of Ukraine-EU talks on the Association Agreement.
To achieve the Ukraine-EU the Association Agreement goals, the parties also agreed to jointly set up a committee for association affairs, the parliamentary committee for association and hold annual summits.
During the negotiations, the sides agreed upon most of the agreement provisions concerning the preamble and also the section devoted to the institutional frames of the relations.
Ukraine's delegation at this meeting was headed by Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Kostiantyn Yeliseev, the EU delegation by Deputy Director-General of the European Commission Directorate-General for External Relations Hugues Mingarelli.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Sweden advocates signing of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union in the autumn of 2009.
In September, Ukraine and the European Union agreed to sign a new enhanced agreement on principles of the association of Ukraine in 2009.
The European Union in July decided to entitle the new agreement the Association Agreement.
