Lithuania President Valdas Adamkus has arrived in Ukraine to take part in events commemorating victims of the Holodomor famine in Ukraine in 1932-1933 on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the tragedy.

The plane of Adamkus landed at about 17:23 at Boryspil international airport near Kyiv.

Lithuanian Ambassador Algirdas Kumzha and Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Kostiantyn Yeliseev met the Lithuanian president at the airport.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Ukraine commemorates victims of the Holodomor famine in Ukraine in 1932-1933 on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the tragedy.

Presidents of six countries are expected to visit Ukraine to commemorate the victims of the famine.
