The hryvnia rate rose by 13 kopecks to 6.17 UAH/USD on the interbank currency market on Friday after a decrease on Thursday.
According to currency dealers for commercial banks, the hryvnia's exchange rate fluctuated within 6.2500-6.3000 UAH/USD at the start of the trading, then rose to 6.3000-6.4550 UAH/USD, and grew to 6.6000-6.7500 UAH/USD by the end of the trading.
The National Bank sold dollars at the rate of 6.17 UAH/USD.
The volume of the currency sold by the National Bank on Friday, is estimated by the dealers at around USD 100 million.
The hryvnia rate has fallen by 22.2% from 5.05 UAH/USD on the interbank currency market since the start of this year.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the hryvnia fell by 0.099% from 5.0450 to 5.0500 UAH/USD on the interbank market in 2007 after rising by 0.099% from 5.0500 to 5.0450 UAH/USD in 2006.
