Verkhovna Rada deputies Serhii Teriokhin of the Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc faction, Mykola Kruhlov of the Party of Regions faction, Mykola Katerynchuk of the Our Ukraine People's Self-Defense Bloc faction, and Kateryna Vaschuk of the Lytvyn Bloc faction suggest that the Verkhovna Rada introduce the 12-percent markup to the duty for the import of oil, coal, oil products, oil gas and natural gas as of December 1, 2008.
This is disclosed in the bill No.3379, which was registered by the parliament on November 20.
The authors of the bill entitled «On the amending some Ukrainian laws to improve the state of the pay balance of Ukraine due to the global financial crisis» offer to set the markup for the period of at least six months.
Currently, the duty for oil and oil products is fluctuating from EUR 0 to EUR 40 per ton; for coal it is 10% and for the gas 0-5%.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Ukraine is one of the largest importers of gas and oil in Europe.
