The Our Ukraine People's Self-Defense Bloc faction at the Verkhovna Rada has called for launch of the discussion of the candidacies for the position of the Verkhovna Rada chairman, chairman of the OU-PSD faction Viacheslav Kyrylenko said this in the report.
«If there are candidates here at the session hall, let’s discuss and vote for them,» he said.
He said that the OU-PSD is ready to take part in the voting after hearing the programs of the candidates.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the Verkhovna Rada intends to consider the election of the new parliamentary speaker at its plenary meeting on Thursday.
The major candidacies for the post of the Verkhovna Rada chairman are leader of the Lytvyn Bloc faction at the parliament Volodymyr Lytvyn, first deputy Verkhovna Rada chairman Oleksandr Lavrynovych, and Our Ukraine People's Self-Defense Bloc faction deputy Ivan Pliusch.
Verkhovna Rada deputy of the OU-PSD Anatolii Matvienko suggested that the parliament cancel the decision on dismissal of Verkhovna Rada Chairman Arsenii Yatseniuk.
On November 12, the Verkhovna Rada dismissed Yatseniuk satisfying his resignation statement.
