Then protesters went to the Cabinet of Ministers.
The protest action began around 9:30 a.m.
They were holding flags with the symbol of the National Trade Union Forum and the Federation of Trade Unions.
Protesters are demanding to stop lay-offs caused by the financial crisis without approving this matter with trade unions, Hryhorii Kabachenko, deputy head of the National Trade Union Forum said.
They also demanded to increase minimum wage to the subsistence level as of January 1,2009.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, National Security and Defense Council First Deputy Secretary Stepan Havrysh requested Interior Minister Yurii Lutsenko to tighten public order in regional centers during the All-Ukraine action of trade unions slated for November 16 to November 19.
