Socialist Party Leader Oleksandr Moroz advocates an idea of holding simultaneous parliamentary and presidential elections in September 2009.
Moroz gave his position on the Inter TV channel on November 14.
According to Moroz, the holding of early elections to the Verkhovna Rada should be postponed, so as to hold simultaneous parliamentary and presidential elections in September.
"The elections [snap parliamentary and presidential elections] can be held in September," Moroz said.
The holding of snap elections to the Rada in 2008 would be inexpedient, although the Socialist Party of Ukraine would benefit from the elections this year, he said.
Moroz called on political forces to consolidate for the settlement of the political crisis and overcoming the economic crisis.
As Ukrainian News reported, Socialist Party Leader Moroz has predicted that the early elections to the parliament will take place in February or March 2009.
President Viktor Yuschenko has said he will set a new date for early elections to the Verkhovna Rada after the parliament allocates required funding for holding them.
