Verkhovna Rada deputy, assistant chairman of the Our Ukraine People's Self-Defense Bloc faction, and one of the leaders of the People's Self-Defense deputy group, Taras Stetskiv, is convinced that there will not be early parliamentary elections.
He expressed this opinion in an interview with the Ukraine television company.
"No elections will be held. I think that this reckless scheme became obsolete, thanks God," he argued.
He also noted that the situation inside the Our Ukraine People's Self-Defense Bloc faction became stable as a result of evident unlikelihood of conduct of early parliamentary elections.
"Do not make haste to burry the Our Ukraine People's Self-Defense Bloc," he said.
According to Stetskiv, a political council of the Our Ukraine People's Self-Defense Bloc has held a meeting quite recently. It was the first meeting in the past month. On Tuesday, November 11, the faction meeting is due to take place.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, on October 9, President Viktor Yuschenko disbanded the parliament and scheduled the early parliamentary elections for December 7.
On October 20, he suspended this decree.
Yuschenko intends to schedule the elections after the Verkhovna Rada grants the requirement amount of funds for arranging and holding of the early parliamentary elections.
