Maryna Stavniichuk, one of the deputy heads of the Presidential Secretariat, has denied the claim that the Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc has asked the Constitutional Court to consider the constitutionality of the presidential decree that dissolved the parliament and scheduled early parliamentary elections.

The presidential press service announced this in a statement.

"Considering the constitutional/legal purity of the decree issued by the President, its constitutionality has not been challenged at the Constitutional Court of Ukraine," Stavniichuk said at a meeting with ambassadors and diplomats from the European Union.

According to Stavniichuk, Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko disseminated false information because she was uninformed.

"The Prime minister was obviously not informed, and she is disseminating false information to the society [by announcing that] her political force has appealed to the Constitutional Court over the decree. I want to hope that she was simply uninformed," Stavniichuk said.

According to Stavniichuk, the only petition that parliamentary deputies representing the Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc have filed with the Constitutional Court does not involve the constitutionality of the presidential decree but clarification of the Law on Parliamentary Elections' provisions on creation of district lection commissions.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Tymoshenko earlier said that the parliamentary faction of the Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc had asked the Constitutional Court to consider the constitutionality of President Viktor Yuschenko's that dissolved the parliament and scheduled early parliamentary elections.

The Cabinet of Ministers has called on Yuschenko to cancel this decree.

Yuschenko dissolved the parliament on October 8 and scheduled early parliamentary elections for December 7.
