Parliament Speaker Arsenii Yatseniuk thinks that the early parliamentary elections may be postponed.
He made this statement to the press, answering a question of Ukrainian News.
«Theoretically, yes. And it could be one of the reasons for the current court dispute,» he said, answering the question whether President Viktor Yuschenko will change the date of snap elections.
There could be a shift in the calendar plan of the election campaign due to the court disputes over legality of the parliament dissolution, the speaker said.
He reminded that the Head of State issued several decrees in 2007 and changed the date of elections a few times.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the Kyiv Administrative Court of Appeal has postponed consideration of the claim against the suspension of the presidential decree on dissolution of the parliament until October 17.
On October 13, Yuschenko liquidated the Kyiv District Administrative Court, which on October 10 suspended his decree on early termination of parliament’s powers.
Yuschenko called early elections for December 7.
