Speaking at a press conference, Interior Minister Yurii Lutsenko called on President Viktor Yuschenko to stop drawing force structures in the political confrontation when preparing for the snap elections to the Verkhovna Rada.
"I'd like to turn to the president and other leaders of the state: be patient and stop escalation of drawing force structures in the confrontation when preparing for the preliminary elections," Lutsenko said.
The minister marked, the Interior Affairs Ministry performs its functions of protecting law courts in compliance with the valid legislation.
In his words, police guards all the courts except for the Constitutional Court and the Kyiv District Administrative Court, guarding of which was transferred to the State Guard Department following Yuschenko's decree.
In the minister's words, the State Guard Department is not responsible for guarding courts, but for these two cases.
Lutsenko thinks that involving of force structures in non-characteristic service leads to destabilization of the political situation in the country.
He assured, police is able to maintain order in courts without help.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Lutsenko called for the early elections to the Verkhovna Rada to be canceled by President Viktor Yuschenko.
Lutsenko considers that simultaneous early Verkhovna Rada and presidential elections may resolve the political crisis in Ukraine.
President Yuschenko disbanded the parliament and set the early elections to the Verkhovna Rada for December 7.
