Party of Regions leader Viktor Yanukovych calls for the early elections to the Verkhovna Rada to be held as soon as possible.

He said this to the press during a service in a monastery in Kyiv.

"In my opinion, the sooner the elections take place, the sooner we decide this, the easier it will be for us to stop that chaos in our country," he said.

He assessed the situation with the appeal against the presidential decree disbanding the Verkhovna Rada as part of the struggle for power among politicians.

Yanukovych said the situation with the consideration of the presidential decree dissolving the parliament in courts indicated the disorder of the court system. He said the court system needed reforms.

Yanukovych said his political force had enough experienced people capable of coming to the Cabinet of Ministers after the early elections to the Verkhovna Rada.

Yanukovych refused to predict with which of political forces the Party of Regions would build up a coalition in the next parliament. He only said that the party needed to cooperate with all political forces.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Yanukovych advised Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko to prepare for the work in the opposition.

The political council of the Party of Regions appointed Yanukovych the head of the election campaign of the party at the early elections to the Verkhovna Rada.

President Viktor Yuschenko dissolved the parliament and set the early elections to the Verkhovna Rada for December 7.
