On Monday, the interbank hryvnia rate fell by 20 kopecks to 5.2 UAH/USD, after remaining unchanged on Friday.
According to dealers of commercial banks, at the beginning of the trading session the quotations fluctuated within 5.12-5.28 UAH/USD, then narrowed to 5.17-5.25 UAH/USD and remained unchanged by the end of the trades.
The National Bank of Ukraine did not enter the market due to holidays in the USA.
According to the market participants, the majority of deals were made at the rate close to 5.2 UAH/USD.
Since the beginning of the year, the interbank hryvnia rate has decreased by 2.9% from 5.05 UAH/USD.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the hryvnia rate fell by 0.099% from 5.0450 UAH/USD to 5.0500 UAH/USD in 2007.
The hryvnia rose by 0.099% from 5.05 to 5.0450 UAH/USD in 2006.
