Prominvestbank, one of the largest banks in Ukraine, has imposed a limit on the amounts of cash that holders of payment cards issued by the bank can withdraw through its ATMs and its cash offices.
The National Bank of Ukraine's Deputy Chairman Volodymyr Krotiuk, who is the temporary administrator of Prominvestbank, announced this to journalists.
According to Krotiuk, clients can withdraw UAH 1,000 per day from the bank's ATMs and UAH 1,000 from the bank's cash office.
Moreover, according to Krotiuk, all the bank's ATMs are in steady operation and promptly dispense money.
Krotiuk said that the bank has no problems with cash and that it has sufficient assets to cope with its obligations to private clients.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the NBU appointed a temporary administration to run Prominvestbank on October 7.
Before then, Prominvestbank had repeatedly said that corporate raiders were launching attacks on it with the aim of forcing its current owners to sell it.
The National Bank of Ukraine allocated a total of UAH 5 billion in late September for supporting Prominvestbank's liquidity.
