Yurii Lutsenko, Interior Affairs Minister, who is also leader of the People's Self-Defense public movement, considers that simultaneous early Verkhovna Rada and presidential elections may resolve the political crisis in Ukraine.
He expressed this opinion in an interview with 24 newspaper on October 13.
"We should conduct simultaneous parliamentary and presidential elections. The political crisis will be settled with one stroke. The voting should be comprehensive and well-balanced," Lutsenko said.
He also noted that he does not support the idea of calling pre-term Verkhovna Rada elections.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, President Viktor Yuschenko scheduled snap parliamentary elections for December 7.
