Ukraine and the U.S. are pleased with their bilateral consular cooperation, the Foreign Affairs Ministry's press release reads.
At the October 10 meeting at the Department of Sate building in Washington (U.S.), Oleksandr Kupchyshyn, deputy foreign affairs minister of Ukraine, and Michael Kirby, US under secretary for public diplomacy and public affairs, discussed the issues of bilateral consular cooperation.
Both parties positively assessed consular cooperation between the two countries in addressing issues of current importance.
The diplomats exchanged their opinions concerning protection of rights and interests of the U.S. and Ukrainian citizens, cooperation in combating piracy and hijacking, prospects of visa regime simplification for Ukrainian citizens, and foreign child adoption procedures.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Ukraine and the U.S. intend to cooperate in prevention of piracy, hijacking, violation of territorial integrity and terrorism.
