Maud de Boer-Buquicchio, deputy secretary general of the Council of Europe, considers it possible to exchange experience in youth work between the Council of Europe and Ukraine
This is stated in a press-release circulated by the Ministry for Family, Youth and Sports.
Based on charity practices the member states of the Council of Europe can share experience in youth policy with Ukraine at the national, regional and local levels, Maud de Boer-Buquicchio said addressing the news conference within the 8th European Conference for Youth Affairs in Kyiv.
She thinks local youth projects will foster implementation of the European youth policy as a whole and expressed hope that governments would back development of local youth projects in Ukraine.
Maud de Boer-Buquicchio emphasized that the Council of Europe understood and shared Ukraine's concern about settling youth policy issues there.
All important problems such as drug-addiction, fight against AIDS and others can be solved only through common approaches and complex decision-making, she pointed out.
Maud de Boer-Buquicchio appraised the active role of the Ukrainian line minister in the Council of Europe activity.
Hence, a number of Ukrainian politicians, representatives of youth organizations, local and central powers will come to Strasbourg (France) in December to discuss urgent matters of the youth work to be resolved at the European and the national levels.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the 8th European conference for Youth Affairs was held in Kyiv October 10-11.
The conference passed a mid-term strategy for European youth policy and a Plan of Actions of the Council of Europe in the Youth Policy for 2009-2020.
