President Viktor Yuschenko has reached agreement with bankers on holding regular meetings.
The board chairmen of the largest banks in Ukraine announced this to journalists after a meeting with Yuschenko.
Yuschenko, the National Bank of Ukraine’s Chairman Volodymyr Stelmakh, and bankers discussed the financial and economic situation in Ukraine at the meeting.
The bankers consider the financial situation in the country as manageable.
«The situation is not easy, but it is manageable,» said Raiffeisen Bank Aval’s Board Chairman Volodymyr Lavrenchuk.
The participants in the meeting said that no decisions were made at the end of the meeting, but they added that they agreed to hold such meetings regularly.
They did not specify the format of such meetings.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Stelmakh has cancelled a visit to the United States for the annual meeting of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.
