Central Election Commission Deputy Chairman Andrii Mahera has said the campaign of the early elections to the Verkhovna Rada will start on October 11.
He told this to Ukrainian News.
"If the decree is published today [October 10], October 11 is the first day of the election process," he said.
He said the political parties could start from October 11 preparations for the congresses to draw up party tickets for the elections.
According to Mahera, the start of the election campaign does not require a special resolution of the Central Election Commission.
He said the Central Election Commission would convene for a meeting. The CEC is likely to pass a resolution at the meeting requesting President Viktor Yuschenko, the Cabinet of Ministers, and the Verkhovna Rada to secure funding of the early elections to the Verkhovna Rada.
He said absence of a decision on the finance could end in disruption of the elections.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Party of Regions MP Oleksandr Yefremov, the first deputy leader of the faction in the Verkhovna Rada, believes the National Bank of Ukraine will fund the early elections to the Verkhovna Rada if a court passes this decision.
The Central Election Commission estimated the budget of the early elections to the Verkhovna Rada at UAH 417 million.
On October 8, President Viktor Yuschenko said he was dissolving the Verkhovna Rada.
Yuschenko signed the decree disbanding the parliament on October 9 and the decree was published [came into force] on October 10.
Yuschenko set the early elections to the Verkhovna Rada for December 7.
