The parliamentary faction of the Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc has blocked the parliament’s rostrum and presidium.
Members of the faction blocked the rostrum and presidium in response to the inclusion of a bill on amendment of the law on parliamentary elections on the parliament’s agenda for Thursday.
This bill provides for canceling the minimum 50% turnout for early parliamentary elections.
Before the inclusion of the bill on the parliament’s agenda for Thursday, the faction’s leader Ivan Kyrylenko stressed that the bloc was insisting that the parliament first consider a bill on amendment of the state budget for 2008 and consideration of the draft state budget for 2009.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, President Viktor Yuschenko has dissolved the parliament and scheduled early parliamentary elections for December 7.
