Rada Deputy Portnov (BYT) Thinks Some OU-PSD Deputies Will Be Proposed To Join Bloc In Parliament Race (20:29, Thursday, October 9, 2008)

Deputy chairman of the Bloc of Yulia Tymoshenko faction in the Verkhovna Rada Andrii Portnov is expecting that some deputies of the Our Ukraine People's Self-Defense Bloc faction will be proposed to join the bloc at the early parliamentary elections.

He made this statement to the press.

"I am absolutely confident that we will offer places in the upper part of the election list to every deputy of the Our Ukraine People's Self-Defense Bloc who signed the agreement on rebuilding the democratic coalition with the Bloc of Yulia Tymoshenko," he said.

He added that at their faction meeting on Thursday the deputies will discuss the possibility of BYT's running in a team with other political forces on December 7.

Portnov said the meeting will also address the possibility of resignation of Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, deputy chairman of the OU-PSD faction in the Verkhovna Rada Taras Stetskiv thinks it is possible that the People's Self-Defense movement will run for parliament in a team with the BYT.

BYT faction deputy chairman Andrii Kozhemiakin advocates joint participation of the BYT and some deputies of the OU-PSD in the December 7 early elections to parliament.
