President Viktor Yuschenko wants the Cabinet of Ministers headed by Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko to remain in office until the new parliament forms a new government.
The presidential press service announced this, citing a statement that Yuschenko made to journalists in Italy.
«I am confident that the government will remain. There is no need to make any revision of the executive government,» Yuschenko said.
According to Yuschenko, Ukraine needs a clear and effective system of government today.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Petro Symonenko, the head of the parliamentary faction of the Communist Party, earlier forecast that Yuschenko would remove Tymoshenko from the post of prime minister by appointing an acting prime minister.
Yuschenko has dissolved the parliament and scheduled early parliamentary elections for December 7.
