President Viktor Yuschenko calls early parliamentary election on December 7.

This follows from Decree № 911/2008 of October 9.

The decree reads that Yuschenko disbanded the Rada and scheduled pre-term parliamentary polls for December 7.

As Ukrainian News reported, President Viktor Yuschenko terminated the powers of Verkhovna Rada.

On 16 September, the coalition of factions of the Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc and of the Our Ukraine - People's Self-Defense bloc collapsed after the OU-PSD faction withdrew from it.

On 3 September, President Viktor Yuschenko announced the intention to disband the Rada in case a new parliamentary coalition is not formed within the terms required by law.

On 2 September, the OU-PSD parliamentary faction decided to withdraw from the coalition; 30 of the 72 faction deputies supported this decision.
