According to information from the organization the embassy is exerting pressure on the parliament to accelerate adoption of a new Labor Code in Ukraine.

According to the picketers, the draft of the new Labor Code provides for extending the list of reasons for dismissal of workers, increasing the number of working hours to 10, and restricting the rights of trade unions to protect workers.

However, journalist Yurii Sheliazhenko accused the organizers of the picket of manipulating facts.
