The parliament intends to consider several bills on the procedures for holding and financing early parliamentary elections only after a decree on dissolution of the parliament is published.
Parliament Speaker Arsenii Yatseniuk announced this before closing the parliament’s session on Wednesday.
Yatseniuk said that this was the decision that the leaders of parliamentary factions reached after consultations.
«A decision was adopted unanimously to consider any package of legislation on financing and organizing probable early parliamentary elections after a decision on termination of the powers of the Ukrainian parliament is published,» Yatseniuk said.
At the same time, he expressed doubt that a coalition will be formed in the parliament.
«I practically have no doubt that no coalition will be formed,» he said.
At the same time, he stressed that he was prepared to announce the formation of a parliamentary coalition at any time, thus performing his constitutional duties.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the Communist Party faction’s leader Petro Symonenko said after consultations between President Viktor Yuschenko and the leaders of parliamentary factions on Wednesday morning that Yuschenko demanded that the parliament amend the 2008 state budget to allocate funds for financing early parliamentary elections.
According to Symonenko, you will decide whether or not to order early parliamentary elections after adoption of the amendment.
Parliamentary Deputy Oleksandr Yefremov, who is the first deputy leader of the parliamentary faction of the Party of the Regions and the chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Regulations, believes that amendment of the 2008 state budget to allocate money for financing early parliamentary elections is possible only after Yuschenko signs a decree ordering early parliamentary elections.
