The Bloc of Yulia Tymoshenko faction at Verkhovna Rada was insisting on inadmissibility of calling a pre-term parliamentary election at the consultations of President Viktor Yuschenko with the Verkhovna Rada administration on the issue of dissolution of the parliament.
Deputy Verkhovna Rada Chairman and one of the leaders of the Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc, Mykola Tomenko, made this statement at a briefing.
"My personal position that does not differ from the position of the Bloc of Yulia Tymoshenko faction is that we are sharing the opinion of the Ukrainian people. The Ukrainian people opts out calling pre-term parliamentary election," he said.
Tomenko emphasized that the Party of Regions and the Our Ukraine - People's Self-Defense Bloc factions expressed the opinion during the consultation meeting with the President that Yuschenko is eligible for calling a pre-term parliamentary election.
Tomenko stressed that initiators of possible snap Rada elections should take full responsibility for preparing and conducting the elections, regulate their procedure, and approve amendments to the 2008 state budget on financing the elections.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, in the morning, Yuschenko held the consultation with the Verkhovna Rada administration at the Presidential Secretariat building.
The presidential press service reported that all the Verkhovna Rada faction leaders expressed their consent to calling pre-term parliamentary election.
Anatolii Hrytsenko, a Verkhovna Rada deputy of the Our Ukraine - People's Self-Defense bloc faction, expressed confidence that Yuschenko does not want a resumed BYT - OU-PSD coalition, and is determined to call early election to the parliament.
