The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has begun an inquiry into illegal interference with operation of PromInvestBank, one of Ukraine's largest banks.
The SBU press service made this statement.
"In response to the request of CJSC PromInvestBank the SBU has begun an inquiry to detect those who ordered unlawful actions concerning PromInvestBank, who under covert of a false campaign instigated from outside made and attempt to misappropriate assets of the bank," the statement reads.
Information from the press service, the SBU and the Prosecutor-General's Office intend to take all the necessary measures to protect financial stability and security of physical and legal entities' deposits in the bank.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the General Prosecutor's office will halt further destabilization in operation of the PromInvestBank.
PromInvestBank has repeatedly claimed about raid attacks to force its current owners sell the bank.
Late in September, the National Bank of Ukraine directed UAH 5 billion to bolster bank's liquidity.
