Ukraine and Belarus are planning to hold the 16th meeting of the intergovernmental commission for trade and economic cooperation in April-June 2009.
This is stated in a press-release issued on the outcome of the 15th meeting of the Ukrainian-Belarusian intergovernmental commission for trade and economic cooperation.
The sides agreed to call a meeting of ad hoc groups for cooperation in the chemical industry in the immediate future and boost the country's entrance to the agricultural and food markets.
Moreover, the sides also arranged to set up an ad hoc group for interregional cooperation and convene a meeting of the commission on cooperation in science and technology to approve a range of joint research projects for 2009-2010.
A number of bilateral agreements are to be completed and signed in the short run, in particular, the Consular Convention, an agreement on transfer of sentenced people, an agreement on simplified movement in Slavutych-Chornobyl NPP direction running through Belarus, a protocol on amendments and addenda to the agreement on cooperation in state testing and protection of plants, as well as memorandum on cooperation in power engineering.
As Ukrainian News reported, Ukraine and Belarus are to establish a joint venture for producing Belarus tractors in Kyiv region.
