Interior Affairs Minister Yurii Lutsenko, who is the leader of the People's Self-Defense public movement, has said that the Party of the Regions and the Our Ukraine People's Union party intend to form a coalition in the parliament after early parliamentary elections.
Lutsenko was speaking at a press conference.
"[The Party of the Regions and the Our Ukraine People's Union party] plan to form a coalition headed by a prime minister Yanukovych, but they want to do it after early parliamentary elections," Lutsenko said.
According to Lutsenko, the current instability in the country was caused by the desire of Yuschenko and members of his circle to eliminate Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko from the political arena.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Lutsenko has accused Parliamentary Deputy Viacheslav Kyrylenko, who is the leader of the parliamentary faction of the Our Ukraine-People's Self-Defense bloc (OU-PSD), of attempting to disrupt the negotiations on formation of a coalition between the OU-PSD and the Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc.
The Our Ukraine People's Union party considers the chances of formation of a coalition by the parliamentary factions of the Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc and the OU-PSD as miniscule.
Kyrylenko has denied that deputies representing the Our Ukraine People's Union party have held talks with representatives of the Party of the Regions on formation of a coalition.
