The Security Service of Ukraine has detected and closed a channel of smuggling drugs and psychotropic substances from Europe to Ukraine.
This is stated in a press-release circulated by the Security Service.
The Security Service officers found out the channel had been supervised by an international organized criminal grouping involved citizens from Ukraine and West-European countries, the press-release reports.
Officers of the criminal investigation department arrested one of the suspected at the Kyiv railway terminal when he was carrying 3 kg of amphetamine.
At his home the officers seized 0.5 kg of amphetamine, 1,128 ecstasy pills, fire and traumatic arms, and cartridges kept without permissible documents, as well as devices for packing psychotropic substances to be further distributed in the territory of Ukraine.
The Security Service has instituted a criminal case under Article 305 of the Criminal Code (smuggling of drugs, psychotropic substances, their analogues and precursors)
The Security Service is currently identifying all involved in the crime.
