Presidential Secretariat's Deputy Head Stavniichuk Considers October 3 As Day Of Dissolution Of Coalition (20:40, Tuesday, October 7, 2008)

Maryna Stavniichuk, one of the deputy heads of the Presidential Secretariat, considers October 3 as the date of dissolution of the parliamentary coalition.

Stavniichuk announced this to journalists.

"Based on the provisions of the constitution of Ukraine and rulings of the Constitutional Court, I believe that it is quite possible to consider the date of October 3 because parliamentary factions are specifically the subjects of formation of a coalition of parliamentary factions," Stavniichuk said.

Thus, according to Stavniichuk, she considers October 3 as the date of dissolution of the parliamentary coalition from the legal point of view.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the parliamentary faction of the Yulia Tymoshenko believes that President Viktor Yuschenko has no right to dissolve the parliament before November 23 because deputies of the current parliament were sworn in on November 23, 2007.

Yuschenko planned to hold consultations with the leadership of the parliament on October 7 regarding dissolution of the parliament, but he later decided to give parliamentary factions a few more days to form a coalition.
