Kyiv prosecutor's office has opened a criminal case upon illegal sale of 15 kilometers of rails disguised as crap metal by head of the department and leading specialist of one of the departments of the Transport and Communication Ministry in confederacy with representatives of the commercial structures.
Press service of the Main organized crime department of the Internal Affairs Ministry told this to the Ukrainian News agency.
The case was opened in compliance with section 2, article 366 of the Criminal Code (office abuse).
The enforcers found out that the suspects had forged a number of acts describing the condition of the rail tracks to obtain the opportunity to illegally write them off and alienate at the understated price.
The evildoers caused the damage of about UAH 2 million to the state.
The investigation is underway.
