Volodymyr Lytvyn, leader of the Volodymyr Lytvyn Bloc faction at the Verkhovna Rada (Parliament) of Ukraine, is urging President Viktor Yuschenko to prevent force settlement of the political crisis.
Lytvyn announced this at a press conference.
"It is necessary to do the utmost to prevent all manifestations of power settlement of the current destructive conflict. The President needs to make a special address to the nation on this occasion," he said.
Yuschenko, the Cabinet of Ministers and Verkhovna Rada are involved in a political conflict that may have unforeseen and serious aftereffects for the state, Lytvyn says.
"Ukraine has not simply entered a new stage of political crisis. For the first time it is being involved in political war of the three main centers of influence, three institutes of power - the President, the Cabinet of Ministers, and Verkhovna Rada," the Lytvyn bloc leader says.
He called on the key political forces to raise the question of personal responsibility of the heads of state and politicians for further development of the conflict.
The Lytvyn bloc stands for obligation of Yuschenko, Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko and parliamentary faction leaders to immediately hold a public dialogue and discuss the situation in this country.
Relevant principles must pave the ground for public dialogue that needs to be endorsed as a law on the fundamentals of home and foreign policy, Lytvyn says.
He believes an effective and responsible coalition may be created on that basis.
Lytvyn emphasized that the Lytvyn bloc does not partake in the talks on the creation of a possible new coalition.
As Ukrainian News reported, Communist Party faction lead Petro Symonenko says the authority's plans to hold domestic military exercises may be interpreted as Yuschenko's preparation for an internal armed conflict.
