Officers of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) have arrested a Ukrainian citizen, a former resident of Kharkiv now living in the Netherlands, on suspicion of smuggling 3,000 ecstasy pills in Kharkiv.
Ukrainian News learned this from a statement by the press service of the SBU.
Officers of the SBU established in early spring that a Ukrainian citizen, former resident of Kharkiv who had permanently lived in the Netherlands for several years, was preparing for smuggling a large batch of the MDMA pill, also known as ecstasy pills.
The suspect in late August illegally brought in his car in Ukraine via Poland nearly 3,000 pills of ecstasy.
The officers arrested the suspect in Kharkiv at an attempt to sell nearly 2,800 pills for USD 7,500.
The investigative department of the Kharkiv regional office of the Security Service of Ukraine opened a criminal case under part 3 of article 305 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (smuggling of drugs).
