Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Hryhorii Nemyria is urging President Viktor Yuschenko and Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko to jointly attend a Ukraine - European Union summit in Evian, France, on September 9.
He said this on Ukraina Channel on September 5.
The deputy prime minister asked Yuschenko to accept the invitation of the European countries and attend the summit together with Tymoshenko.
"I would like to take this opportunity and address President of Ukraine Viktor Andriiovych Yuschenko to ask him to postpone his personal ambitions to national interests he was declaring and European integration priorities in particular," Nemyria said.
He stressed that the invitation he was talking about has already come.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Nemyria announced on September 4 that European countries had invited both Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko and President Viktor Yuschenko to the Ukrainian-European Union summit that will take place in Evian (France) on September 9.
Yuschenko is forecasting that a new enhanced agreement between Ukraine and the European Union will be signed in September this year.
The previous Ukrainian - European Union summit was held in Kyiv in September 2007.
