National Security and Defense Council Secretary Raisa Bohatyriova sees no future for a possible coalition between the factions of the Party of Regions and the Bloc of Yulia Tymoshenko.
She gave her opinion in an interview with the Fifth TV channel on September 5.
"The majority of voters will not support this sort of a coalition. Therefore, there is no future for this coalition," Bohatyriova said.
She said the BYT and the Party of Regions had created the coalition informally. The objective of the coalition is the sharing of the power between them. It is an obvious fact, that the Party of Regions and the Bloc of Yulia Tymoshenko are not going to make good their election promises, Bohatyriova said.
According to Bohatyriova, Russia controls the informal coalition between them, which pursues the goals of weakening of the positions of President Viktor Yuschenko, the building of a two-party election system in Ukraine, and suspension of all integration initiatives of Yuschenko.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Party of Regions faction leader Viktor Yanukovych denies the party is in the coalition talks with the Bloc of Yulia Tymoshenko.
Experts of the Situations Modeling Agency see little chance for the coalition between the factions of the Party of Regions and the Bloc of Yulia Tymoshenko to form.
MP Viacheslav Kyrylenko, the head of the faction of the Our Ukraine - People's Self-Defense Bloc, predicts a coalition among the BYT, the Party of Regions, and the Communist Party of Ukraine.
