The Verkhovna Rada asks President Viktor Yuschenko to dismiss Viktor Baloha as the head of the Presidential Secretariat.
A total of 323 of 226 required deputies backed the request submitted by Volodymyr Stretovych of the Our Ukraine People's Self-Defense Bloc faction and Volodymyr Syvkovych of the Party of Regions faction.
According to the request, the deputies ask the president to dismiss Baloha for creation of obstacles in activity of deputies and possible disguising of illegal transactions with land.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Internal Affairs Minister Yurii Lutsenko considers that Baloha’s dismissal may save the coalition of democratic forces.
On September 2, the parliamentary faction of the Our Ukraine People's Self-Defense Bloc decided to quit the coalition.
