MP Roman Zvarych, the deputy head of the Our Ukraine - People's Self-Defense Bloc faction at the Verkhovna Rada, says the factions of the Bloc of Yulia Tymoshenko and the Party of Regions intend to trigger President Viktor Yuschenko's impeachment.
He told this to the press.
"Everything goes toward this. They nevertheless [the Party of Regions and the BYT] want impeachment of the president," he said.
Zvarych said he was sure there was a deal between the factions of the BYT and the Party of Regions on amendments to the Constitution, the creation of a coalition between the Bloc of Yulia Tymoshenko and the Party of Regions, the support from the BYT to Party of Regions Leader Viktor Yanukovych at the presidential poll, the submission by Yanukovych of the candidacy of Yulia Tymoshenko to the post of the prime minister.
He said a meeting of the faction of the Our Ukraine - People's Self-Defense Bloc was scheduled to start at 1000 concerning the participation in the work of the Verkhovna Rada on Friday.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, on September 2, the Verkhovna Rada regulated the procedure of the checks by the Constitutional Court of lawfulness of investigation and the consideration of a case on impeachment of the president.
With 226 votes required to pass the law and 300 votes required to override the veto of the president, 363 MPs supported the law.
