The building of the school was built in 1943 by an officer of the German army as a cottage house. After the war, it hosted an orphanage for children whose parents died during the war. A boarding school was opened on the premises in the 50s. The boarding school was reorganized into the Prybuzka Assistance Boarding School in 1970 and as the Regional Municipal Prybuzka Special Educational Boarding School in 2003.

The school has 127 pupils today. There are disable children, orphans, children deprived of parental care, children with one parent, children from low-income families, families with many children and troubled families.

The schoolchildren are guided by 24 teachers, 20 supervisors, a psychologist, a counselor and a librarian. Nine of the teachers are developmental paediatricians.
