Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko suggests that the Party of Regions back amendments on the mining sector into the 2008 state budget at the Verkhovna Rada meeting on September 2.
She said during her visit to Luhansk region.
"I suggest declaring Tuesday, the first day of parliamentary work, as miner's day. Will the BYT and the Party of Regions gather on Tuesday and celebrate the miner's day: it would be great. We should back amendments on increased financing of the mining sector," Tymoshenko said.
Besides, she delivered Cabinet of Ministers' diplomas to Luhansk and Donetsk miners and congratulated then on their professional holiday.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Tymoshenko insists on endorsement of the law "On prestige of miner's work" on September 2.
The Cabinet of Ministers suggests that the Verkhovna Rada raise prestige of miner's work.
On June 18, the Verkhovna Rada refused to raise the prestige of the miner's work.
