Deputy Transport and Communications Minister Oleksandr Davydov, who is also the chairman of the State Aviation Administration, announced this at a press conference.

According to him, the relevant directive has already been signed, and it provides for introduction of the uniform fees in September.

However, Davydov stressed that the new fees would actually come into effect in November because of the mechanism for informing international airline companies about such changes.

Davydov said that the fee for provision of air navigation services to aircraft on domestic flights was low and that it would be raised to the level of the fees for those on international flights.

"It is the demand of international organizations that there should be no discrimination against international transporters," Davydov said.

He added that the fee for provision of air navigation services to aircraft on international flights would be set in euros and not in dollars.

He did not specify the fees.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the Transport and Communications Ministry initiated in late June establishment of uniform fees for provision of air navigation services to aircraft.

The ministry proposed establishing the fees at EUR 37.26 on flight routes and EUR 5.88 near airports.

The existing fees for provision of air navigation services to aircraft on flight routes are USD 50.96 for aircraft international flights and USD 20 for those on domestic flights while the fees for provision of the services to aircraft near airports are USD 8.55 for aircraft on international flights and USD 1.38-1.6 for those on both domestic flights (depending on the airport).
