Yuschenko Thanking European People's Party For Support Of Ukraine's Intention To Join EU (14:37, Friday, July 25, 2008)

President Viktor Yuschenko thanks the European People's Party for support of Ukraine's intention to enter the European Union.

Presidential press service reported.

At the meeting with the delegation of the European People's Party faction at the European Parliament headed by Josef Daul, Yuschenko thanked the party for the initiative to hold regional conference of the Orthodox dialogue between Ecumenical Patriarch and the party's faction at the European parliament.

"This issue is quite important for us. We intend to resume the dialogue between orthodox confessions in Ukraine," Yuschenko said.

Yuschenko informed the delegates about the recent talks with the EU on signing new enhance agreement.

The sides discussed consideration of the resolution on declaration of 1932-1933 Great Famine as the genocide of the Ukrainians.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, earlier, the European People's Party had reported on readiness to support the Cabinet of Ministers in settlement of privatization issues.
