6,250 law enforcement officers will maintain public order in Kyiv during the July 25-27 period, when events commemorating the 1,020th anniversary of the Christianization of Kievan Rus will be held.

The press service of the Interior Affairs Ministry announced this to Ukrainian News.

This number consists of 4,200 police officers and 2,050 Interior Ministry troops.

Moreover, almost 800 police officers from the Kyiv Regional Police Department will maintain public order in the Kyiv region.

The central police and local police departments have set up operational headquarters for this purpose.

An inter-agency operational headquarter has also been set up.

Moreover, operational investigative groups have been set up and the necessary reserves created to ensure rapid response whenever the situation changes.

A set of preventive measures at airports and the sites of the commemorative events have also been organized.

Law enforcement officials will ensure that attics, rooftops, basements, uncompleted facilities, empty premises, underpasses, overpasses, and bridges along the routes of official automobiles are properly guarded.

Police are also expected to escort officials, religious delegations, and organized groups of citizens from the regions to Kyiv and back.

Moreover, 630 traffic police and 54 police patrol cars will be deployed to organize automobile traffic at the sites of events commemorating the anniversary.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the 1,020th anniversary of the Christianization of Kievan Rus will be commemorated in Kyiv from July 25 to 27.
