The Defense Ministry is intending to launch an advertising campaign in the Internet to advocate advantages of the contractual service in the army.
Ukrainian News learned this from a statement by the press service of the Defense Ministry.
"The next step on the active propaganda of the contractual military service will be the use of the opportunities of the Internet. In the near future, the work of instructors of territorial recruitment centers of regional military commissariats of the Southern Operational Headquarters will be stepped up in this direction," Viktor Shevchuk, the head of the recruitment department of the Southern Operational Headquarters, said.
The Defense Ministry says prospective professional soldiers may find required information not only in magazines and newspapers, but also hear it from military specialists during TV and radio programs.
According to Shevchuk, most of instructors of the territorial recruitment centers know the foundations of the advertising and propaganda work. They are active participants in information and propaganda events at schools.
They also cooperate with regional and city employment agencies during the fair of vacancies, he said.
The ministry is intending to open until July 30 additional five territorial recruitment centers in Dnipropetrovsk region, Donetsk region, Kirovohrad region, Mykolaiv region, and Odesa region.
These five territorial recruitment centers will select citizens for contractual service as privates, sergeants, and applicants for higher military educational institutions of the Defense Ministry.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Defense Minister Yurii Yekhanurov in June said the finance gap could delay the shift to the professional army in Ukraine.
