Emergency Situations Minister Volodymyr Shandra has refuted accusations by Party of Regions MP Nestor Shufrych against the ministry of misuse of funds.

He announced this at a press conference.
"I think it was simply an ungrounded statement," he noted.
Shandra said prosecutors and investigators could check the use of funds at the ministry.
If the opposition is concerned about living standards and salaries of rescuers, its representatives should have better submitted constructive proposals and voted them through in the Verkhovna Rada, he said.
Shandra added that he had seen no practical proposals from the opposition on increasing the budget of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, former Minister for Emergency Situations and Protection of Population from Chornobyl Disaster Consequences Shufrych assessed as unsatisfactory the work of the Cabinet of Ministers concerning its support for activities of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
Shufrych also expressed concern over the lack of transparency in tender purchases at the Emergency Situations Ministry.
