The Central Election Commission has approved its preliminary work plan for the second half of 2008, the CEC press-service told Ukrainian News.
The plan was agreed at the meeting of the Central Election Commission on Wednesday.
In addition, the CEC discussed a written request submitted by Mykola Kovach, a Verkhovna Rada deputy of the Our Ukraine - People's Self-Defense Bloc faction (No 99 on the election list) July 14 for withdrawing him from the election list.
The Commission decided to refuse Kovach registration as a candidate to Verkhovna Rada deputies and withdraw him from the Our Ukraine - People's Self-Defense election list.
As Ukrainian News reported, the Central Election Commission intends to complete work over formation and enactment of the State Voters Register information and telecommunication system by the end of 2008.
CEC Secretary Tetiana Lukash predicts the suspension by President Viktor Yuschenko a governmental resolution simplifying the procedure of state purchases for the creation and introduction of the information and telecommunication system will stall the creation of the State Voters Register.
